The Halloween Event on Thursday , October 29th, sponsored by the city, will be a drive-thru, occurring @ 4 different locations-the fire station on Valencia Ave., the fire station on Bradford Ave., Placentia City Hall on the corner of Kraemer Blvd. & Chapman Ave. and the Whitten Center on Melrose Ave. from 5-7 PM. The Rotarians are volunteering to pass out candy to the children in the cars as they drive through a location. Contact Kathi Baldwin if you would like to help. Wednesday, October 7, 2020, 15 members were in attendance: Roy, Ron, Kathi, Ward, Turgut, Kevin, Glenn, Lisa, Jim, Alice, Michelle, Andrea, Hugh, Nate & Craig.
The pledge was lead by Jim, Inspirational Moment was provided by Kathi, standing in for Glenn, 4 Way-Test was led by Ward.
Providing an update from the Placentia Chamber of Commerce, Kathi shared information on the success of the State of the City. Well done, very efficient & President Ward looked great & did a wonderful presentation. There is a Recycling Event scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, November 7 & 8 @ Placentia Town Center. Restaurant Week is coming! November 2-8, more information to follow. Lisa shared with everyone October is beast cancer awareness month. The Girls League @ Diamond Bar High School has raised $20,000 in the past 20 years for research. They are conducting a virtual 5K as a fundraiser and it is $10.00 to enter.
Ward announced the Placentia Police Department is again offering the pink Breast Cancer Awareness special patch this year for $10.00 per patch or a double-sided key chain. Contact Ward if you're interested.

Jim Paddock reminded everyone, Tuesday, October 13 is Amazon Prime Day, so if you’re shopping, don’t forget to sign in using Amazon Smile for the club.
Alice also reminded us, Tuesday, October 13 is also the monthly social @ Craftsman.
Ward shared the Candidate Night, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, has a link on the city website for those unable to attend.
Craig Hall is the Fine Master for October, Lisa $55 HB (happy bucks) for husband’s birthday, Kevin contributed $100 to the Rotary Foundation for his & Lorraine's Anniversary, Ron had $5 HB for being above ground, Alice had $10 HB for the grapefruit picking, Turgut had $15 HB for Maria’s surgery going well & picking the grapefruits. Jim had $10 HB for the harvesting project. Michelle had $5 HB for Tar attending the meeting.
Tar is home in Yorba Linda & just completed the “Bar” exam yesterday, remotely. He attending law school @ California State University of Berkeley. While attending law school, Tar was the Editor in Chief of the Law Journal & worked @ a bankruptcy clinic. He will be working as an Equity Attorney @ a law firm in Manhattan, New York. He is still in contact with his Interact friends from VHS & they still participate in service projects when they are in town. It sure was good to see him again!
