I am happy to report that we have received notice that “Health for All: Ensuring Health Care Equality in the Guatemalan Highlands” Global Grant #2349448, has been approved. Those of you who have had a leadership role in a Global Grant know this effort truly does take a village and it was certainly true in this case. From the assessment phase through grant writing and revisions, more than 20 Rotarians, health experts, and those providing administrative and technical support participated both here in the U.S. and in Guatemala. Our team also visited and Zoomed with dozens of Rotary Clubs to secure support, and many of you who are participating in this grant brought other clubs on board.

Marco Herrera and I, with Quetzaltenango and Placentia Rotary Clubs—the Host and International Sponsor Clubs, respectively—are extremely grateful to each and every member of our grant team, and to every Club, District, and The Rotary Foundation which have made this grant possible:

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
As it currently does for all Global Grants, TRF matched District Funds in this grant at 80%.

If you or your Club were not a funding partner, we still appreciate your interest in Rotary’s Global Grants Program. We will be updating everyone on this list several times each year on the exciting progress on this grant. If you or your club are listed above, please read on, as I want to make it easy for you to get your funds in.

The Health for All Global Grant will serve more than 10,000 people in just its first years, and ultimately, will transform a clinic and its ability to deliver health care in an entire region. We will look forward to sending updates.

Care to join us on an upcoming Global Grant fulfillment trip? Or, if you are a Funding Partner, please read on.

Sincerely yours,

Kevin Padilla, Past District Governor (rotarykevin@att.net)
