An update from Miss Placentia 2020 Alexandria Steward

Our guest speaker was Alexandria Steward, Miss Placentia. She is a junior @ UCLA, majoring in health in society. Alexandria plans to be a pediatric PA. Her platform is mental health and suicide awareness, which became very important to her following a freak accident where she broke her back and suffered a head injury during cheerleading in high school.during her injury, the With Hope Foundation was extremely helpful to her.

Kathi provided an update for the Chamber of Commerce. Ward provided an update on the city-the budget for the first half of 2020 is done, two drive- in movies are coming up-11/20/2020 will be “Frozen” and December will be “Elf”.
A drive through winter wonderland replaces the tree lighting event and will be held on December 3, from 4:30-9:30 pm at the civic center. December 1 is the next city council meeting.

Lisa has sent via email, an invitation to the upcoming holiday event for the club to be held on Saturday, December 12, from 12-3 pm @ Tri-City Park.

Kathi answered correctly about the giving Tuesday in December, no fine! Kathi had $45 hb for forty-five years of wedded bliss to Glenn. Roy was also celebrating his wedding anniversary with holly as well as both of their birthdays with $100 hb. Lisa had $5 hb for having the week off from teaching, Glenn paid a $100.00 fine to the capital campaign for his wedding anniversary, Jim had $20 hb his grandson taking 1st place in a national putting contest, he’s a chip off the old block! Also included in his hb is $17.37 from amazon smile, keep it up everyone! Turgut had $5 hb for William coming home for thanksgiving.

Her platform is mental health and suicide awareness, which became very important to her following a freak accident where she broke her back and suffered a head injury during cheerleading in high school.during her injury, the With Hope Foundation was extremely helpful to her. She is on the Dean’s List, coaches @ Kips, runs track & field, is a member of a pre- physicians club, and a member of a sorority @ UCLA. She is a glass half full type of person.

The meeting next week is a club assembly.
